Christian Schurmann died October 08, 1912. Although he had written a will, and had it signed by two witnesses, he had
not signed the will himself. Therefore, instead of all his lands going to his wife, as he had intended, they were to be
divided by all his heirs. All heirs had to sign their rights back over to their mother in order for Christian's wishes
to be upheld. Since his youngest daughter, Clara Pauline, was still a minor, and could not legally sign over her rights
yet, the lands were more or less in legal limbo for some time, unlit Clara came to the age of majority.
